GLEE

It is fair to say that we were pleasantly surprised by the interest shown and the orders taken at this years GLEE, arguably the UK’s most comprehensive trade show for the garden, landscaping, leisure and pet industries.

Aside from the orders taken we made many new contacts, including some from overseas, and the next few weeks will hopefully see us developing new and fruitful relationships with a great many companies who have a very positive attitude to future sales despite the current economic woes.

In addition to our own stand, which received a great many satisfactory comments, we were responsible for providing stands to other nurserymen exhibiting in the hall as part of a new planteria idea. In collaboration with the GLEE management we were invited to provide stands with a common denominator in terms of height, width and length, to other plant exhibitors in the show. Because of the flexibility and variety of display stands we produce, we visited each of the exhibitors prior to the show and tailored the stands (number and height of shelves, for instance) so that their products fitted the stands perfectly and showed them off to their best. A big thankyou to the organisers whose marketing and signage efforts at the show were second to none.

W Neudorff GmbH KG, the suppliers of effective natural/organic plant protection products that do not harm pets, wildlife or the environment approached us prior to GLEE to design and build 3 stands to display their products on in the main exhibition area. The client commented on how delighted they were with the stands. The comment, from one of the worlds leading players in the world of natural gardening, is a reflection of the standards our craftsmen work to. As a result of this success Neudorff has become one of the overseas exhibitors who have placed an order for more of the same.

Despite the best efforts of some to dampen the commercial enthusiasm, GLEE is testament to the enduring British spirit to persevere through times of uncertainty. We met some wonderful people at GLEE whose refreshing attitude left us in no doubt as to why we love this business.
