RHS Harlow Carr Plant Centre, Harrogate

Following the construction of a new entrance taking the visitor from the gardens into the retail sales area, Sarah Martin, Harlow Carr's Manager, invited Mike Hills to produce a range of hexagonal and rectangular plant tables to lead people into the retail space.

The project proved to be a bit of a challenge when it was pointed out that the entrance was on a pronounced slope and all the tables needed to be level. Every stand leg was individually cut to length and was such a success on completion that the viewer is virtually unaware of the complications afforded by the slope.
